Most people don’t realize smoke detectors have a lifespan! The plastic housings are designed to yellow as they age. This is an easy visual reminder that it’s time for replacement. As we head into the colder months, make sure to replace old smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and don’t forget to change the batteries at least once a year. A few minutes of maintenance can save lives. Stay safe and warm this Holiday Season!
